According to Sport Bible, Haller beat the likes of Lois Openda, Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Vangelis Pavlidis in the standings to win the Willy van der Kuijlen trophy. Haller penned a four-year deal with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in July but the Ivorian striker has yet to make a competitive fixture for the Bundesliga side after he was diagnosed with a testicular tumor. The Ivorian striker has had a successful surgery and is on the way back to full recovery.
