Real Madrid Forward Karim Benzema Named UEFA Player of the Year.

France international striker Karim Benzema has been named the UEFA best player of the year Benzema scored in Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Frankfurt to become the second-highest goalscorer in the history of the Spanish club The France international was in unrivalled form last season after he steered Real Madrid to La Liga and Champions league victories.


Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has been adjudged the best player by UEFA for 2021/22 campaign.

The Frenchman played instrumental in Real Madrid's Champions League triumph, Last season, the Frenchman scored a total of 44 goals for Real Madrid, emerging as the top scorer for Los Blancos in both the UEFA Champions League and the Spanish La Liga.


Benzema was the top scorer in last season's Champions League, scoring 15 goals, including hat-tricks against Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.

The 34-year-old had been the standout favorite to win the award but confirmation was not expected to come from UEFA until Thursday during the draw for the 2022/23 Champions League group stage.

Benzema was adjudged the best player for the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League season while Vinicius was named the best young player in the same competition.
