Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has praised Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus after scoring a stunner for Ajax against Liverpool. The Black Stars midfielder beautifully controlled a pass from Steven Berghuis before powering past Liverpool goalie Alisson.

Ferdinand, who was watching from the studios of BT Sports, hailed the 22-year-old for his devastating strike.

"What a devastating finish. No keeper in the world saves that," said Ferdinand.

Mohamed Salah broke the game's deadlock after 17 minutes before the Ghana international levelled ten minutes later. Cameroon centre-back Joel Matip header home the winner in the final minutes of the game to deny Ajax a point. Before the winner, Kudus had been replaced by striker Brian Brobbey. Mohammed Kudus has been in a rich run of form for Ajax, scoring five goals in his last four games for the Dutch champions.
