Leicester sanctions Fofana for forcing Chelsea move.

Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana has been banished from training with the first team for trying to push for a move to Chelsea Fofana was shortlisted as a key transfer target by Chelsea, but the transfer is on the verge of collapse after Leicester rejected two bids.

The Foxes have slammed a fee in excess of £80 million for the 21-year-old, who has five years left on his current deal with the club.

Leicester City centre-back Wesley Fofana has found himself in trouble for reportedly attempting to force a summer move to Chelsea.

Fofana has been a top transfer target for the Blues this summer, with Thomas Tuchel keen to add the youngster within his ranks after the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

However, their push to land the Frenchman has proved futile, with Leicester rejecting three bids for Fofana.

According to Metro UK, the Foxes turned down Chelsea's latest bid of £70 million on Tuesday, August 23.

Leicester are understood to be demanding a fee in excess of £80 million for the 21-year-old, who still has five years remaining on his deal at the King Power Stadium.

While Leicester's huge asking fees for Fofana could see Chelsea back down in their attempts to sign him, the French youngster is said to be desperate to move to Stamford Bridge.

The centre-back is understood to be pushing for the transfer and even missed a training session in the build up to his side's defeat to Southampton at the weekend.

His move to push for a move away has now earned him punishment from Leicester city boss Brendan Rodgers.

The English tactician has revealed that Fofana has been ordered to train with Leicester City’s Under-21s after attempting to force through a transfer to Chelsea. "He’s not training with the first team. He’s training with the Under-21s so he can get his football fitness and keep working," Rodgers was quoted saying. "It’s so important at this stage to control any sort of distractions that may be there. I can only pick players who give that full commitment to play for the first team. If not, he trains with the Under-21s," he added.
