Chelsea Eye Shock Deal for Harry Maguire, Could Offer Christian Pulisic in Swap Deal.

Chelsea are now interested in signing Harry Maguire from Manchester United, with their initial centre-back targets looking out of reach Hopes of signing Wesley Fofana are dim and having missed out on Jules Kounde already, Thomas Tuchel is now looking elsewhere to improve his backline Chelsea could offer Christian Pulisic, who is a target for Manchester United, to land the besieged defender.

In a shocking turn of events, Chelsea have reportedly inquired about the availability of embattled Manchester United defender Harry Maguire. Chelsea are said to be keen to bring Maguire to Stamford Bridge as their search for a centre-back continuous to be hard as originally thought.

The Blues were heavily interested in Leicester City's Wesley Fofana, but the asking price might price them out of a deal.

Thomas Tuchel went into the transfer market knowing that he had to look for defensive reinforcements following the departures of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger. But so far, the club has only brought in Marc Cucurella and Kalidou Koulibaly while also renewing the contract of captain Cesar Azpilicueta. Daily Mail now reports that Chelsea could use United's interest in Christian Pulisic to land Maguire. Maguire has been under siege for long periods of time at Old Trafford. His place in Erik ten Hag's squad was considered to be under threat when the club signed Lisandro Martinez from Ajax. The Englishman has, however, started in both United games this season.

The Red Devils have made the worst possible start to a Premier League season and Ten Hag could be tempted to ring up changes for Liverpool's visit. Raphael Varane is pushing for a starting berth, which could cost Maguire his place.
