Frenkie de Jong could end up playing in the German Bundesliga this season as Bayern Munich are now interested in signing the Dutch midfielder from Barcelona.

The Dutch midfielder has been an outcast recently from the La Liga side as Barcelona are eager to get rid of the wages to help the financially strapped side raise funds.

According to Barca Universal, Bayern Munich are now considering signing the €85 million worth Barcelona star on loan in a deal similar to the one they had with Phillipe Coutinho in 2019.

Frenkie de Jong is still adamant about leaving the Camp Nou this summer and is determined to succeed at Barcelona despite the La Liga club’s wish of selling him to raise funds to buy new players. Manchester United had earlier signified interest in signing De Jong from Barcelona and had tabled an €85 million bid for the Dutch defender but failed to secure the services of the 25-year-old midfielder.

Meanwhile, Manchester United has been given one last hope of signing Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong before the summer transfer window closes.

According to Manchester Evening News, the La Liga side has called a meeting with the player and demanded that De Jong either accept the Red Devils' offer to join them in the Premier League or cut his current wage in half.

The 25-year-old is reportedly one of the six players Barcelona needs to let go before the transfer market closes on September 1.
