Barcelona Legend Eto'o Believes an African Team Can Win the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Former Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o is confident a team from African can win the 2022 FIFA World Cup Five teams including Ghana and Senegal will represent the continent at the tournament to be held in Qatar later this year Samuel Eto'o is currently in Ghana to share ideas with the FA on how to get the best performance from the Blackstars.


Legendary African footballer, Samuel Eto'o, is convinced an African team can win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Africa will be represented by Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal at the tournament in November and December.

The continent's best performance at the World Cup was when Cameroon, Senegal and Ghana reached the quarter finals in 1990, 2002 and 2010 respectively.


But Qatar's World Cup ambassador, Samuel Eto'o, who is in Ghana as part of his work, has strong belief African could go for the ultimate this year.

"First of all I feel at home and I don't need a reason to be back home," Eto'o sad immediately he touched down in Accra as quoted by footballghana.com. "However I came with our brothers from Qatar for our national teams to get the best possible information so that they give us the best results and why not? Win the world cup for us," he added.


Eto'o played at the World Cup during his playing career with Cameroon, but the Indomitable Lions struggled to reach the feat chalked in 1990. However, the FECAFOOT president is hoping the Cameroon team performs better this year. Samuel Eto'o won several titles during an illustrious playing career, winning the Africa Cup of Nations twice and the UEFA Champions League three times.


The former Barcelona forward touched down on Thursday with his entourage ahead of his meetings with stakeholders of football in Ghana. In a video posted on social media, the FECAFOOT president was given a warm reception as fans sang and chanted his name.
